Most hotel disappointments in Yiwu are predictable: the room does not match the photos, the deposit is cash only, foreign cards fail at the desk, and there is nothing halal within walking distance. This guide picks the district first, then the hotel — starting from the fourteen hotels visitors talk about most — and lists the questions to confirm with the hotel before booking. Listings use Trip.com, Amap and credited guest reports; our own hotel visits are not completed yet.

Use the dated public-source facts below as a starting point. Confirm anything essential directly with the hotel; these are not results from our own stays.

Within five minutes on foot, including breakfast. Hotel buffets are usually not halal.
Ask which cards and terminals work at the desk. Listing policies are useful leads; we have not tested the terminals ourselves.
Amount, cash or card, and how it is returned. Cash deposits are common and legitimate — but you should know before arriving.
Whether someone can handle a late check-in, a taxi call or a fapiao request in English.
Some hotels serving Muslim traders have a prayer room; we note it.
Where you stay should follow which market district you work in and whether you want Exotic Street outside your door.
Walk times are added per hotel once timed; the table describes the areas as visitors describe them, not specific properties.
Every named hotel with a confirmed position, plus the six market districts, the mosque and the metro. Tap a card below to jump to its pin; tap a pin to jump to the card. Hotels whose address is still being confirmed show "not on the map yet".
Listed from what visitors report about position, price and stay; none is a recommendation until a local has walked the distance, tested the card terminal and asked about the deposit.

Public posts warn about noise, an overheated room, a closed pool and cleanliness at several mid-range hotels including a Kaichen K branch, a Yunbo Wanda-area hotel, an Orange Crystal near the market, a Kaiyuan Mingdu and a designer hotel. We list names only after checking; ask us before booking.
Rates are listing averages (Trip.com, dated) or what a visitor reported on a given date, in USD at the rate on the How We Review page; they change daily; check-price links (affiliate, marked) will sit on each hotel page once monetisation is confirmed by the site owner.

The hotel breakfast is really distinctive — a Middle Eastern-style buffet. Under ¥400 a night with a double breakfast of this quality: great value.
Rooms are big — even the base rooms are 45 m²; at ¥500-plus it's outstanding value within the Marriott family, and the ¥138 afternoon tea for two in the lobby bar is pretty and tasty.
Xibaoman Zhihuan Hotel: twin room ¥209 a night, opposite the trade city, excellent location.
Yiwu Ocean Hotel: about ¥300 a night, well equipped, near the International Expo Centre.
Booked on Ctrip: queen room ¥182 a night including two breakfasts and a coffee, plus car washing; a decent breakfast selection.
Overall it looked clean and the service was good; the only shortcoming was the soundproofing — a little weak.
The most common complaint in public posts about mid-range hotels near the market: street noise, neighbours, and one hotel nicknamed a ‘chassis slaughterhouse’ for its sound. Ask for a high floor away from the road
A pool that is ‘under maintenance’ is a recurring story even at the international brands; if the pool is the point, message the hotel first.
One visitor described a night at a banquet hotel as ‘being steamed’; check the air-conditioning before the porter leaves.
Spring Festival and the October holiday fill the market-side hotels; visitors advise booking early or staying one town over in Pujiang for under ¥200.
Only one hotel in the posts serves a Middle-Eastern-style breakfast and one advertises halal lunch; assume the buffet is not halal and use the halal breakfast page.
Traders who stay for a month or a season usually move from a business hotel to an apartment hotel with a kitchen, or a monthly rental. What to check (contract, deposit, registration with the police) is on the long-stay page.
Share the hotel, dates and the questions you need answered: deposit, card payment, breakfast or arrival time. Ask about a short Chinese call or message to the front desk. The hotel confirms its own policies and booking. Availability and any fee are agreed before the task begins.
Compare hotel areas, check arrival requirements and keep your Chinese address ready.

First visit checklistFor the First-Timer:Visitors split it simply: business travellers next to the market (Shangri-La and Marriott face Districts 1–2; budget rows of hotels line the District 1 gate), tourists and Muslim buyers along Binwang Road – Santing Road – Exotic Street, where Beyti, the night market and Jiming Pavilion are all within 2–3 km. If halal food outside the door matters more than a five-minute walk to the market, choose the second.
For the Veteran:Binwang Road for longer stays: city centre, night market, metro; District 6 (Global Digital Trade Centre) for the newest rooms.
By name, in public posts: Shangri-La (opposite District 1, mixed on value), Marriott (one road from the market), Fairfield, Atour on Binwang Road, Kaichen Puyue for its Middle-Eastern breakfast, and budget picks Xibaoman (¥209 twin opposite the market), Hanting and Ocean Hotel (~¥300). Several other mid-range hotels have public complaint posts; we name them only after checking.
Two leads from public posts: Yayu Hotel inside the Global Digital Trade Centre advertises halal lunch service for traders, and Kaichen Puyue serves a Middle-Eastern-style buffet breakfast. Neither is verified by us yet; Exotic Street has reported halal restaurants; check the route and opening hours for your particular hotel.
Some do, many do not. The dated hotel listing may describe card policies, but we have not tested the desk terminals ourselves; bring cash or set up Alipay for foreigners as a backup (see the First-Timer Kit).
Several hotels serve mostly Muslim traders, with halal food downstairs and sometimes a prayer room. Each hotel page shows its public sources and what remains unverified.
Typically one night's rate or a fixed amount, often in cash. The exact rule for each hotel is recorded on its page with the date.
