Yiwu is not a tourist city, which is exactly why it is interesting: the world's largest wholesale market, a Muslim quarter that feels like a Middle Eastern high street, old river towns, and a night market that feeds half the city. Twelve things a local would actually take you to.

Five districts, tens of thousands of shops. Even if you buy nothing, it is the sight.
Visitor guideWhere most of the world's Christmas decorations come from, all year.
GuideTen minutes of steps up Jiming Hill for the city view; lit 18:30–21:30, visitors say, and used as a film-set location. The temple itself is tiny — go for the view.
The red 世界义乌 photo wall at Chaoyangmen Plaza (opposite Sultan), and the Yiwu Tiandi lifestyle mall at Chouzhou North Road and Huagong Road, open 10:00–22:00 with a Hema supermarket downstairs — the Spring Festival fallback when everything else is shut.
Free, photogenic European-style blocks next to the market (British, Mediterranean and French phases), and the Korean street in Nanshanli — a hundred Korean restaurants that come alive after 5 pm, in a residential compound; visitors call it worth an evening, not a day.
A hundred nationalities, Arabic cafés, African restaurants: Yiwu's most unusual sight is its people. One visitor's verdict: the city does not sell scenery, it sells the world.
Where the Muslim traders actually go after the market shuts: café-style shisha rooms, 24-hour Arab coffee with the match on, dessert counters past midnight, a Turkish barber, football on Friday.

Free trail; drive to the far end.
Also named above: the Korean street (Nanshanli), Yiwu Tiandi mall and Huaxi Forest Park — tap for the address and directions.
Visitors who expected a temple were disappointed; the pavilion and the night view are the point.
Some call it an underrated thousand-year river port; others say skip it. Go on a weekday, for the old street and the rice cakes, not for a full day.
Free, but the first 4–5 km of the trail are dull; drive to the far end.
Every item above links to halal food nearby where relevant. Prayer rooms exist inside the market; the mosque is central. Alcohol is not part of any of these activities. For evenings and weekends — shisha cafés, Arab coffee rooms, barbers, football — see Where Muslims hang out in Yiwu.
For a day or two, yes — the market is a genuine world sight and the international food scene is unlike anywhere else in China. It is not a scenic destination; visitors who went for scenery came back saying the city ‘sells the world, not landscapes’.
The route visitors converge on: District 1 East (4th floor for single pieces) and District 5 or 6 in the morning, a Turkish or Yemeni lunch on Chouzhou North Road, Little Europe or Yiwu Tiandi in the afternoon, Jiming Pavilion at dusk, Santing Road night market after dark. Second day: Fotang, the Korean street or a Hengdian trip by metro.
The world's largest small-commodity wholesale market, its brown sugar, and a resident community of traders from over 100 countries.
One full day for the market and Exotic Street; two if you add Fotang or a brown-sugar workshop; a third for a Hengdian or Hangzhou day trip.
